My name is Arianna, I've got red hair, and I was a preemie (29 weeks). I just thought i'd share that with you. I think it's a really cool coincidence that I just happened to be flipping through blogs and found this blog. The blog of a mother of a preemie named Arianna, who has red hair, going through all the same stuff my mom went through with me.
I am really interested in the books you are having your daughter read. My son (former 26 weeker, will be 3 in March) knows all of his letters, and I need some guidance on the next level of reading. Any advice?
These particular books are called BOB Books: http://www.amazon.com/Bob-Books-Set-Beginning-Readers/dp/0439845009/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1264690883&sr=8-1
You may want to start him on the pre-readers though.
We also did Hooked on Phonics - just now finishing the 1st grade level :) Also very good but your child needs to be able to sit for a long time. We didn't really start on all of these until after she was 3 - she just didn't have the attention span until then.
"There are two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a
miracle. The other is as if everything is." -Albert Einstein (fellow
preemie)
“A child’s outcome is directly linked to their parents and their environment.”
“Motherhood has relaxed me in many ways. You learn to deal with crisis. I've become a juggler, I suppose. It's all a big circus, and nobody who knows me believes I can manage, but sometimes I do.” - Jane Seymour
"Anyone who has ever said 'don't cry over spilled milk' has never
spilled a bottle of breastmilk they just spent 20 minutes making"
