Remember?

Remember my cute video of my hubby's reaction to the news?

Remember what he said?

He had good reason to be worried I guess... today we found out his contract will not be renewed.

Super yucky timing... Ok, I'll say it. Super shitty timing...

Jen,
You guys can get through this. With your budget system, you can handle anything. Thinking of you.

This so sucks. I hope that your experience with this ends up being like ours (when Sharon lost her job in September), that is, he lands something MUCH better soon! Keeping our fingers crossed for you guys!

No words of wisdom here...just wanted to let you know I empathize and hope this is totally temporary.

that sucks and i can imagine how you are feeling.
my darling husband was laid off a week after the birth of my abigael and again, after a wonderful weekend with my jodie this weekend i come home to learn he had been laid off friday...he decided to wait until i came home. while appreciate his not wanting to stress me even more this weekend, i am still a bit...okay, a lot freaked as we have a lot going on under the big top too. still he tells me we will be okay. ugh! he might be right but i believe it is our job as mamas to stress.
hugs to you because i know this makes a happ/stressful time even more stressful for you.

I just hope that they can get this economy rolling again. It's pretty depressing and 800 bucks a person probably won't do it...I just talked to my best friend from college who is a mergers & acquisition lawyer in NY and he's pretty pessimistic about the depth of this recession. He doesn't have too much to worry about (even with a new kid on the way, his take home salary per month is pretty much my annual take home for a year. sigh) but that the well off in NY feel this way doesn't bode well for the rest of us. Not to inject politics into this (especially since I'm too smart to attribute recessions purely to one political leader or another--the structural problems go much deeper than that and represent a fundamental transition in our economy globally--but he did vote for this guy (not that his vote really counted, being that he lives on the more or less progressive Upper West Side and in a pretty blue state more generally). Still, it would be nice to have sounder leadership at the top. And healthcare for all of us that is more affordable. OK -- off my soapbox for now and I hope I haven't offended anyone too much!

Thanks for the kind words guys - thankfully he has two interviews for FULL TIME/PERMANENT positions this week. He's a been a contractor for 5 years and it's been so hard finding a permanent position that pays well... well, with #2 on the way we need permanent.

So I've got my fingers crossed.

Abby... I agree. With all the 'talk of recession' it will be willed into reality. *sigh*
