...the debate last night?
Did you hear McCain's plan for the homes being forclosed on?
He said he would advocate for the government to buy up those loans and sell them back to the homeowners for what the current value of their homes is.
Really? That's fabulous... for them.
What about those of us who didn't get in over our heads on a house and have been working hard to ensure we make our payments on time every month?
Although neither the democrats or republicans will get my vote this November, since one of them will get in they had better not forget about those of us who are actually smart with our money. I'd love to refinance my home at the current market value. Considering my house has lost about $30k in value I could save alot of money!
Politicians... lots of talk and no action, as usual. I hate voting for the usual 'clown side show' every election so I don't anymore... but unfortunately 3rd party candidates are never heard from in debates...ever. So no one hears the good ideas anymore.

We're lucky that we're probably (who knows at this point?) still up at least 100K from our purchase price (but we did put a bunch of money into the house on important structural stuff like windows, a new roof, brick repointing, and new heating system--about 60K total, but some of that offset with an 8K credit at settlement 5 years ago). Yet, we couldn't sell it at this point because no one can get mortgages, and we can't get a new one either, despite our on-time payments etc and a very good credit history, despite student loan debt and some credit card debt that we manage very handily).
Anyway, though, I think from the perspective of health care plans, Obama beats out McCain if only because of the latter's truly scary ideas. In our swing state of PA, regardless of what I'd like to see happen politically, a more intelligent Obama beats out an increasingly frightening McCain/Palin ticket any day of the week. But that's just my partisan two cents and can be taken with a grain of salt (while mixing metaphors!)
